Key Takeaways

Have you heard of the term “side hustle”? It’s not quite the same as the gig economy, where you do something like Uber or Lyft with the goal of just making extra money.

Side hustles are things that are more passion driven than money driven. It’s something where a person is passionate about it, like crafting or clothes or helping people with resumes, and they just happen to make a little money at it.

What’s really interesting about side hustles is that a recent survey by GoDaddy found that 50% of Millennials are doing them and making an average of $268 a month at it. That’s quite a few people, and that’s pretty cool that they are making the most of something they really love doing.

What’s also great about this, especially with the ease with which you can sell things online today, is that you earn a little extra money. With that extra money you can maybe pay down student debt, pay off credit cards, accumulate money to buy a car or home, or save for retirement.

These side hustles have really taken off over the past decade or so with being able to do so much online now. Before that, you were out selling lemonade as a side hustle in your front yard as a kid!

So, if you’ve got a passion for something, why not make a little money on it too? You could turn it into some real cash, do something you love, and pay off debt or accumulate money for a goal you have.

Until next time, enjoy!
